Oregon is quickly becoming one of the most important regions in the United States for data center development. From Hillsboro’s “Silicon Forest” to large-scale projects in Eastern Oregon, the demand for digital infrastructure is driving a new wave of industrial construction across the state.
At the same time, Oregon has taken a more active role in understanding how this growth impacts energy, land use, and long-term planning. A newly formed statewide advisory committee is expected to study these impacts and provide recommendations later this year.
But beyond policy discussions, one thing is already clear: data centers are changing how construction projects are planned, executed, and documented.
